In 2011, Michael led the design and establishment of YIHA an organization established to address youth employment across West Africa. He served as YIHA’s founding CEO until June 2013 and is currently chairman of the Executive Committee and a founding member of the YIHA Board of Trustees. YIHA and its partners have helped hundreds of young people learn critical skills, connect to job opportunities or create their own small enterprises.
Michael has received numerous awards for his life’s work, including the Presidential Award of the International Association of Lions Clubs, the largest humanitarian service organization in the world. He was named one of the world’s 100 Global Leaders for Tomorrow by the Women Deliver, and was selected to receive the Social Innovators Award from LEAP Africa, an award recognizing innovative leadership. Michael holds degree in medicine, and a post graduate degree in public health.
